Alex Amey (DOB 26-04-2005, Sotogrande) is a highly talented young golfer whose passion for the game emerged at an early age, despite having no family background in golf. What began as hours spent playing in the garden quickly developed into a remarkable journey, with Alex going on to win many national and international trophies.

He began his formal training at just six years old at the Golf School of La Cañada in Spain. By the age of seven, he had already secured multiple victories, including two titles in the Fase Final del Pequecircuito de Andalucía. His rapid progression continued, and at nine he joined Real Club de Golf Guadalmina under the guidance of Antonio Jiménez, further refining his skills and competitive edge.

Alex was also a member of Real Club de Golf de Sotogrande, where he was honoured with a plaque in recognition of three major achievements: Spanish National Champion (U8) in 2013, Spanish National Champion (U10) in 2015, and Spanish Champion Alevín (U11) in 2016. These accomplishments reflect a level of excellence reached by very few players at such a young age.

In 2017, Alex relocated to Amendoeira Golf Resort in Portugal with his family and began working with experienced coach Joaquim Sequeira at the Vilamoura Golf Club. He continued his upward trajectory with strong results throughout the year. In 2018, however, he faced a significant setback due to a prolonged illness that kept him away from competition for six months. Demonstrating resilience and determination, he returned to the sport in 2019, gradually rebuilding his form and achieving notable performances.

The 2021 season marked a major milestone in Alex’s career, with outstanding results at both national and international levels. His performances earned him a place in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), further confirming his status as a promising young golfers.

Since 2023, Alex has proudly represented the Swiss Men’s National Team. Backed by the support of Richard Adby, he has delivered strong performances across multiple international competitions, continuing to build his reputation on the world stage.

With a clear ambition to pursue golf at a professional level, Alex has built a dedicated team around him to support his development. This includes his long-time coach Joaquim Sequeira, short game coach Antonio Rosado, fitness coach Fernando Leitão and mental coach Hicham Benjoudar. Together, they provide a comprehensive and high-performance environment designed to maximize his potential. His resilience, dedication, and motivation continue to define his journey and progression in the sport.

On 20th February 2026, Alex officially turned professional, marking a defining milestone in his career. Just two weeks later, he secured victory in his debut professional competition in Portugal, signaling the start of an exciting new chapter.
